Meet Bek
Founder of Solara Healing
Hi, I’m Bek, the heart behind Solara Healing. I’d love to share a little about myself and the journey that led me to become a Reiki Master Teacher.
For the past eight years, I’ve worked in the roofing industry alongside my husband. If someone had told me three years ago that I would one day become a Reiki Master Teacher, I probably would have laughed and thought they were crazy!
But life has a way of taking us down paths we never expected, and my journey has changed me in ways I could never have imagined.

A Journey Through Loss and Spiritual Awakening
In 2023, I lost my little brother in a car accident. His passing changed my life forever and led me to question many of the beliefs I had grown up with.
Having been raised in a religion that taught me death was the end of this life, with the hope of seeing our loved ones again in paradise, I struggled deeply with the thought of never seeing my brother again. I simply couldn’t accept that this was the end of our connection. I continued to feel his presence in different ways and noticed signs that brought me comfort and made me feel connected to him.
This experience opened the door to a deeper spiritual journey. I began exploring my own beliefs and looking for answers beyond what I had always been taught. Eventually, I chose to leave the religion I had grown up in, a decision that came with the difficult loss of friendships and family connections.
Although this was a challenging time, it also became the beginning of a journey towards self-discovery, spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of myself.
Discovering the Power of Reiki
Towards the end of 2024, I ruptured a disc in my lower back and found myself living with constant pain. Balancing work, motherhood and everyday life became increasingly difficult, and I began searching for alternative ways to support my physical and emotional wellbeing rather than relying on pain medication alone.
Around this time, I kept coming across videos about Reiki. My curiosity grew, and I began researching energy healing and the connection between emotional wellbeing and the body.
I decided to book my first few Reiki sessions at the same place where I received massages. After those sessions, I noticed a positive difference in how I felt, both mentally and physically. I felt drawn to learn more about this practice.
During one of my sessions, the practitioner said something that stayed with me: “You can do this too.”
Something about those words resonated deeply with me, and I felt a strong pull to learn Reiki for myself.
Finding My Calling
My research eventually led me to Tiffany at Reiki Restore, and meeting her became a turning point in my journey.
After experiencing a session with Tiffany, I asked her whether she thought I should train in Reiki. She told me that I had strong healer energy and even thought I was already a Reiki healer.
Her words gave me the encouragement to take that next step. I went on to complete all three levels of Reiki training and became a Reiki Master Teacher.
Looking back, I can see how each experience — the grief, the questions, the challenges and the moments of discovery — helped guide me towards this path.
The Meaning Behind Solara Healing
Inspired by the Sun
The name Solara is inspired by the sun and the warmth, light and life it brings to the world, symbolising a sense of comfort, renewal and positive energy.
A Childhood Connection
Even as a child, I was drawn to the feeling of the sun on my skin, especially during times when I wasn’t feeling well. Its warmth always brought me a sense of comfort, renewed energy and vitality. It felt as though the sunlight breathed life back into me.
A Feeling That Stayed With Me
That feeling stayed with me as I grew older, and when it came time to name my business, I knew I wanted something that reflected that same sense of warmth, healing and renewal.
The Meaning Behind the Name
Solara represents light, life and warmth, symbolising the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, restore energy and nurture our wellbeing.
My Intention for You
My hope is for Solara Healing to be a space where you can find comfort, restore your energy and reconnect with yourself, leaving you feeling renewed, balanced and at peace.
The Birth of Solara Healing
And so, Solara Healing was born — inspired by the sun's comforting warmth and the sense of renewal it has always brought me.
